Aston Martin is introducing its most driver-focused Vantage ever as the Official FIA Safety Car for the 2024 Formula 1 season. This specially equipped Vantage will lead the F1 cars on the formation lap and stand ready during races. Powered by a hand-built 4.0 Twin-Turbo V8 engine, it boasts a 30% increase in power over its predecessor. The car required minimal modifications for its role due to its inherent performance capabilities. Bernd Mayländer, the FIA Safety Car Driver, praised the Vantage’s handling and power. The car features modified aerodynamics, a rear wing for added downforce, and enhanced FIA equipment. Inside, Pole Position Seats and specialized switchgear assist the driver and passenger. Roberto Fedeli, Aston Martin’s Group Chief Technology Officer, highlighted the seamless integration of FIA equipment into the Vantage’s design. The Vantage Safety Car and DBX707 Medical Car will debut at the FORMULA 1® STC SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX, painted in Aston Martin Racing Green to match the team’s colors. Overall, Aston Martin’s collaboration with Formula 1 underscores the fusion of performance and safety, promising an exhilarating spectacle on the track.
